Tennessee Vols Football Schedule: 2012 Is Officially Easier Than 2011 | Bleacher Report :

1/30/2010

It's Football time in Tennessee!!!

The kickoff of the 2010 season is just slightly over 7 months away, but you can't tell that to a Tennessee Volunteer Fan. With 3 days' until National Signing Day all eyes and ears are glued to the media outlets that spew College recruiting news. Although Mother Nature tried to have her way over the weekend, some very important athletes made it to Knoxville for their official visits as the coaching staff looks to wrap up some final details on the 2010 list. Unfortunately , however, there were some promising athletes who were unable to attend the campus this weekend.

For those who missed the trip, including OL Damien Robinson, the Vols still have high hopes that they will eventually make their way to Knoxville before making their decisions. The University of Tennessee boasts the best football faciliities in college, and the atmosphere is stunning and tends to sway recruits minds like pines atop of Mt. Mitchell. Hopefully these young men will find their way to Knoxville to see the facilities for themselves and see how UT has set itself apart before they are rushed into making a decision.

Some Good News
UT Committs Eddrick Loften and Marcques Dixon were scheduled for official visits at USC and Miami respectively this weekend. Fortunately, both recruits decided against the travels and have confirmed that they are both strongly committed to UT.

Ambles receives the Red Carpet
WR, Markeith Ambles, a former committment under Lane Kiffin has decided that he wants to officially visit UT. Ambles expressed interest again after having talked with New Head Coach Derek Dooley and his staff. But in a surprise turn of events Ambles found hmself stranded in a Charlotte, NC  airport. Ambles did however, find his way to Knoxville over the weekend due to UT Coachng Staff Lance Thompson and Steve Rubio. Hopefully, the gestures will prove to Ambles how badly he is wanted in Knoxville. Ambles is a five star committ who could bolster the roster at UT. His pledge would give Tennessee arguably the best wide receiver class in the 2010 class.

In other News
Former Tennessee and Current USC Head coach Lane Kiffin is under the magnifying glass again. Kiffin is reportedly talking to his incoming recruits about the possible sanctions and or penalties that USC could receive for past instances involving Reggie Bush and O.J. Mayo. Kiffin has reportedly told his recruits that they "will be ok" and that the worst that could happen is USC may "lose a couple wins". Dillon Baxter told reporters that Kiffin also said that his future "would not be affected".  Kiffin continues to add to his list of traveling Carnies as former strength and conditioning coach Aaron Ausmus has decided to join the staff at USC.
